Our Commitment to Privacy

RobotsTxt Pro is built with privacy as a core principle. We believe your data is yours, and we've designed our tool to keep it that way.

Data Collection & Storage

✅ All processing happens in your browser - Your robots.txt content never leaves your device.

  • Robots.txt generation: All generation, validation, and testing happens client-side (in your browser). No content is sent to our servers.
  • History feature: Your saved robots.txt configurations are stored in your browser's IndexedDB. This data never leaves your device and is never sent to our servers.
  • Share feature: When you use the "Share" button, your robots.txt content is compressed and encoded into the URL itself. No server storage is used.
  • No user accounts: We don't have user accounts, logins, or any server-side user data storage.

What We Don't Collect

  • Your robots.txt content
  • Your URLs or domain names
  • Personal information (names, emails, addresses)
  • User accounts or login credentials
  • Cookies for tracking or advertising
  • Third-party analytics or tracking pixels

Minimal Analytics

We may collect anonymous, aggregated usage statistics (such as page views) to understand how our tool is being used and to improve it. This data is collected in a privacy-respecting manner and cannot be tied to any individual user.

Your Control

Since all data is stored locally in your browser:

  • You can clear your history at any time using the "Clear All" button
  • You can clear all browser data (IndexedDB) through your browser settings
  • No data persists on our servers because we don't store any

Third-Party Services & AI Integration

🤖 AI-Powered Rule Generator (Optional Feature)

  • When you use the AI-powered rule generator, your text prompt is sent to OpenAI (GPT-4o-mini) for processing
  • Only the prompt text you explicitly enter is transmitted - no other data
  • The AI service processes your request and returns robots.txt syntax
  • No history, personal data, or other information is shared with the AI service
  • This feature is entirely optional - all core functionality works without AI

No Other Third-Party Services: We don't use analytics platforms, tracking pixels, advertising networks, or content delivery networks that track users. All other functionality is provided client-side in your browser.

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date.
